Of course. First, there are three primary grants that our students often qualify for: the first grant is for those who are financially distressed as evidenced by receipt of public assistance such as “food stamps,” unemployment, and/or minimal job skills/education. The second grant is for students who have some form of medically documented disability. The Third form of grants is for students who have participated in the military and who qualify for tuition reimbursement through the GI Bill.
Yes. We also offer payment eight month plans that can be completed while you’re enrolled in school. Those paying using this form of financing will also be considered for a discount in tuition. For those who do not have money to pay over the eight month program can qualify for student loans which students can begin paying from 1-6 months after graduation.

This is true. SCBC Founder, Leo Price Sr., has been appointed by Governor Jay Nixon to the Missouri Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners. This will help ensure that SCBC remains on the cutting edge of all changes requiring barber licensing, thus ensuring a continued stellar success rate helping students obtain licensing.
No it is not difficult and we have a stellar success rate in helping students obtain licensing. Also, we love students who have no prior barbering experience and who question their own ability to become a great barber. Why? Because their humility makes it easy for us to teach them.

The existence of outstanding student loan debt or poor credit does not disqualify you from receiving financial aid to attend barber college. We offer private financing options that can very well allow students with outstanding loan debt or poor credit to attend school. We understand the cycle where no education/skills keeps you from making money, which keeps you in debt, which keeps you working hard, which keeps you from returning to school for additional education/skills, which keeps you without money, etc. Let us help.
The program is designed to last for 8 months. We realize that many students are adults who head their households and may even have a full-time job. So, although we do like to require a consistent steady pace toward graduation, we do offer flexibility to accommodate students’ schedules and can even offer night classes. You should feel comfortable talking to a counselor about how we can work with your busy schedule.

Absolutely! We have great success in helping students identify shops in which to cut after getting their license. We have also helped students start their own barbershops and will offer students one-on-one assistance in designing a business plan to open their own shop(s). In fact, SCBC is located on the lower level of Desi’s Sports Barbershop, which was founded by SCBC and is now owned and operated by former students.
